Is there more than one benefit of physical exercise? Of course! Here are 10 benefits to help you motivate in starting to get physically active. So get off the couch and get moving!

  1. Exercise will tone and strengthen your muscles. This one is a number one motivator in my vain books! And I am sure I’m not alone, right ladies? The more you exercise, the stronger your muscles get. Who doesn’t want nice toned behind and legs?

  2. Exercise will help you manage your weight. An obvious one! The more you exercise, the more calories you will burn and shed pounds. And for each pound of muscle you add to your body you will burn extra 30-50 calories per day.

  3. Exercise will help you sleep better. Having problems sleeping? Add physical activity to your day and you will get more zzzs.

  4. Exercise will improve your mood. Had a bad day at the office? Go for a run or hit a punching bag at the gym. It will relieve your stress and help you let go of the negative feelings. Exercise stimulates the brain to release certain chemicals that will leave you more relaxed and happy.

  5. Exercise will help you in the bedroom. Too tired to have some fun with your hubby? Or maybe to self conscious to take your clothes off? Regular exercise routine will help solve the dilemma. Need I say more?

  6. Exercise will make your heart and lungs stronger. Can’t run a block without losing your breath? Don’t lose hope just yet. Start slow but be consistent and you will be amazed how your whole circulatory system improves!

  7. Exercise will keep you healthier. Exercise is proven to help with prevention of various health conditions like high blood pressure, osteoporosis, various heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and more. If you already have a medical condition make sure you consult your doctor before you start an exercise routine.

  8. Exercise helps improve your complexion Circulation to the skin is improved which helps with delivery of nutrients and removal of harmful toxins.

  9. Exercise improves your brain function Increased circulation to the brain means more oxygen and nutrients to the thinking cells and more math problems solved!

  10. Exercise is a fun way to socialize. Take a walk in the park with your family, go golfing with your friends, take a bike ride along the seawall, play some beach volleyball…Possibilities are endless but the end result is the same: you have fun and your body reaps the benefits!
