Without a strenuous workout routine
Tips for Getting Legs in Shape will provide you with great ideas, on how to stay active in your every day activities, and get your legs in shape in the process.
So if you have a hard time committing to an exercise routine due to lack of time, or lack of interest, this page is a must read for you. All you have to do is, decide that you will put some effort in increasing your physical activity, and in return you will enjoy better health, well being and of course great looking legs!
So are you ready?
Let's go!
Here are the tips:
Take the stairs.
If you often find yourself in the elevator, just think how much it would benefit your legs to take the stairs instead. Even if you only start with once a day.
It will work your thighs, calves and glutes. Plus you have to get to that floor anyway, so why not do it in a way that will get your legs in shape?
Stretch your legs whenever you have a chance.
Whether you're bending down to tie your shoe, or picking something up from the floor, it gives you an opportunity for a great leg stretch. And stretching your leg muscles every day will give you leaner legs. So it's definitely worth it!
Walk 10,000 steps a day.
Experts agree that walking that much, does wonders to your overall leg health and appearance.
So how do you accomplish that?
I suggest buying a pedometer and take necessary steps to work up to 10,000 steps per day by:
- parking your car further from your destination
- taking a brisk walk during your break time
- walking to the store or work, instead of taking the car
- taking Fido for a walk or a run
- taking the stairs instead of the elevator
Walk to work.
If your work place is within walking distance, leave the car at home. It's better not only for you, but also for the environment. Make sure you wear comfy shoes.
Cycle to work.
It's a great way to shape your legs, especially your front thighs. And you can burn 300-500 calories per hour!
Just make sure you warm up and stretch before your trip and wear a helmet.
Exercise while watching TV.
Use commercials to do some squads, lunges, or any other leg exercise of your choice.
If you have a stair climber, stationary bike or treadmill, park them in your TV room. That way you can use them every day while watching the news or your favorite TV show.
On your days off choose activities that involve moving around, and not sitting around.
Do you have kids? They will love if you take them swimming, skating, cycling or roller blading.
Everybody will have fun, and you will be getting legs in shape at the same time. It's a win-win situation!
Bend your legs-not your back.
Whenever you're picking something up, squad down. Your back will thank you for it, and your thighs will get stronger.
Go for a jog.
Jogging is a fantastic way of getting legs in shape. You will not only get a great leg workout, but also you will burn approximately 700 calories per hour depending on your weight and the speed at which you jog. Just make sure you warm up and stretch before your run.
I hope the tips for getting legs in shape, will help you in achieving stronger, leaner and shapelier legs.
