Prevent Stretch Marks

Do you want to prevent stretch marks from appearing on your legs and the rest of your body?

There is ways of doing just that.

Stretch marks are almost impossible to get rid of once we have them, so we can attempt to prevent them or slow them down in their tracks.

Here are the tips to prevent stretch marks that I followed during my pregnancy. I can't tell you whether following the tips did it, or maybe just my good genetic make up, but I didn't get a single stretch mark while I was pregnant!




Weight Control

The key to stretch mark prevention is keeping your weight under control. If you gain a lot of weight, especially in a short period of time, your skin doesn't have time to adjust and it stretches beyond its capability causing irreparable damage of the stretch marks.

Of course when you're pregnant you have to gain certain amount of weight for the health of your developing child. But try keeping it within the recommended limits by eating healthy foods and avoiding junk.




Massage and Moisturize

Massaging your belly, buttocks, and thighs with cocoa butter is beneficial in the prevention.

But don't just slap the cocoa butter on. Instead massage your skin in circular motion for 10-15 minutes.

It is the massaging action in combination with a good moisturizer that benefits the skin the most.

Make sure you do it every day right after your shower.




Proper Nutrition

If your skin is lacking elasticity, you have increased chances of developing the ugly straie. To increase the elasticity, eat healthy, well balanced diet and drink plenty of water.




Healthy Circulation

Healthy veins aid your skin as they distribute the nutrients. If your circulation is sluggish, your skin might not be getting proper nutrition and be more susceptible to damage of stretch marks.

Dry brushing your skin will increase the blood circulation and shed the dead skin as well. Dry brush with a natural bristle body brush for several minutes before you jump into the shower. And don't forget to apply a rich moisturizer afterwards.




Vitamins

Do not forget to take your vitamins to make sure that your skin gets enough nutrients. Take a well balanced multi vitamin and mineral formula or prenatal vitamins if you're pregnant.
