Vitamin K Spider Vein Cream
Promises to fade spider veins without surgical procedures
Vitamin K spider vein cream has been used for quite some time to reduce the appearance of the spider veins and diminish bruising.
The first ones to use it were the plastic surgeons.
They noticed that topical Vitamin K helped to reduce post-operative bruising in majority of patients.
Do they work? Will they fade your spider veins?
Let's explore the claims and facts of Vitamin K spider vein cream...
What's Vitamin K?
It is a fat soluble vitamin, that plays a major role in blood clotting. It is essential in the formation of prothrombin and other clotting factors. People with vitamin K deficiency may experience bleeding disorders.
What do manufacturers of Vitamin K creams promise you?
When the valves of the veins malfunction, the blood gets backed up, forming little blood pools, which on the surface of the skin appear as spider veins.
Also at times there is a tear in the capillary wall which allows the blood to seep out from the vein and appear on the surface as "spider vein" or bruising.
When you apply the cream, Vitamin K gets absorbed into those "blood pools"and "blood seepage". It then goes to work by clotting excess blood and in turn reduces the appearance of spider veins and bruising.
How long do you need to use it to see the results?
Most people need to apply the cream twice a day for at least 6-8 weeks to see results.
Of course the results are individual and vary among people.
Choosing the right cream
If you decide to give it a try, you should choose a product with high concentration of Vitamin K.
Most products on the market have 5% of Vitamin K, however you can find some that have 8%.
My opinion
I have used Vitamin K spider vein cream religiously for over 2 months.
I have to say that my spider veins faded, but did not disappear.
I think that it may definitely assist you with your vein problem, but it will not completely solve it.
If you use it in combination with herbal and dietary supplements and a healthy diet, you have better chances of success.
Like with a lot of other products, this one may or may not work for you... The results vary among people, so unfortunately you have to decide for yourself, whether it will work for you.
If you're ready to try it, we recommend Medik8 spider vein treatment serum. It contains 8% vitamin K.
